An Introduction

Hello, readers.

My name is Christian, and this is the first entry to my film and literature blog attached to my website. I’ve always been a fan of the arts and studied English and Film at university, and wrote a blog called Christian’s Cinematic Syntax for the literary journal Jet Fuel Review from 2019 to 2022. 

During that time, I struggled with a lot of mental health issues, and I lost myself after a few hospital stays. Whether it be ego or a problem with phone addiction it took me until 2025 to really look inward and mobilize myself to strive to be a better human.

The reason for the film and literature angle is because those are my passions. I have always loved movies and watched them religiously. I am an avid book collector, but always didn’t make time to read the books I would buy. Now, I’m taking it back one step at a time into the swing of things. I’m trying to create a website where I can get in the mode of understanding myself and reflecting on the art I choose to explore. 

I’m currently only writing this for myself and hope to understand the world through the cinema and literature I watch and read. I’ll openly remind you that the internet is wild and dangerous. I have had unrestricted access to the internet since I was 13 and am now 26. Now, I realize how damaging it was to my world.

 I hope you choose to stick with me where we will look at film and literature in an honest way.
